Networking and Finding Poetry Venues
If you have not checked out Spokenwordart.com you must. It’s free and they are the number one site when you type “Spoken Word” on a Google search. I’ve watched this website grow for months now. When I first discovered them in August of 2007 they barely came up on the Google index. I had to sift through spam filled search engine results to find reputable Spoken Word websites. Now they’re #1 and they deserve it.
The site allows Spoken Word artists to register for free. Once a registered member, you can upload videos of your performances, post on the blog, exchange links, communicate with other registered Spoken Word artists, and find out the latest happenings in the Spoken Word community. They even give opportunities to become a featured artists, guaranteeing you a spot on their home page (in addition to the regular listing page). It’s growing fast so hop on it while its young.
